26th-Feb-2007 12:44 am - "He Has It"

I've realized that many things have incredible potential for good and incredible potential for its opposite. YouTube is one of those things. The end result all lies in the paths we choose and the decisions we make, and may they be the ones that please Ar-Rahmaan, inshaaAllah.

I fell upon this video the other day: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hy1NwgVUifI

SubhaanAllah, I couldn't help but think 'he has it'.

Has what?

Perhaps I can't put a name to it.

It may be that calmness, that rest, that noor that comes with his recitation. Such is the nature of KalaamAllah, may it be recited often and much.

Ma shaa Allah!

3rd-Aug-2006 12:18 am - The Inevitable

According to Abdallaah bin Bakr bin Habeeb al-Sahmee: We were told by a man in the mosque of al-Junaabidh that `Umar bin `Abd al-`Azeez delivered a sermon to the people in Khunaasirah in which he said: O people, you were not created in vain, nor will you be left to yourselves [See 75:36]. Rather, you will return to a place in which Allaah will descend in order to judge among you and distinguish between you. Destitute and lost are those who forsake the all- encompassing mercy of Allaah, and they will be excluded from Paradise, the borders of which are as wide as the heavens and the earth. Don't you know that protection, tomorrow, will be limited to those who feared Allaah [today], and to those who sold something ephemeral for something permanent, something small for something great, and fear for protection? Don't you realize that you are the descendants of those who have perished, that those who remain will take their place after you, and that this will continue until you are all returned to Allaah? Every day you dispatch to Allaah, at all times of the day, someone who has died, his term having come to an end. You bury him in a crack in the earth and then leave him without a pillow or a bed. He has parted from his loved ones, severed his connections with the living, and taken up residence in the earth, whereupon he comes face to face with the accounting. He is mortgaged to his deeds: He needs his accomplishments, but not the material things he left on earth.

Therefore, fear Allaah before death descends and it's appointed times expire. I swear by Allaah that I say those words to you knowing that I myself have committed more sins than any of you; I therefore ask Allaah for forgiveness and I repent. Whenever we learn that one of you needs something, I try to satisfy his need to the extent that I am able. Whenever I can provide satisfaction to one of you out of my possessions, I seek to treat him as my equal and my relative, so that my life and his life are of equal value. I swear by Allaah that had I wanted something else, namely, affluence, then it would have been easy for me to utter the word, aware as I am of the means for obtaining this. But Allaah has issued in an eloquent Book and a just example (sunnah) by means of which He guides us to obedience and proscribes disobedience. He lifted up the edge of his robe and began to cry and sob, causing the people around him to break into tears. Then he stepped down. That was the last sermon he gave before he died, may Allaah have mercy on him.

We ask You - by virtue of bearing witness that You are Allah, there is no God worthy of worship but You, the One, the Self-Sufficient, Who begets not, nor was He begotten, and there is none who is comparable to Him. - [we ask You] to grant victory to Islam and the Muslims everywhere. O Allah! Grant victory to Islam and the Muslims everywhere. O Allah! Grant victory to Islam and the Muslims everywhere.

O Allah! Grant Victory to Your religion, Your book, and the Sunnah of Your prophet, and Your monotheist slaves.

To You we complain of our weakness, our failure, our shame before the people. O Most Merciful! You are the Lord of the weak and oppressed.

O Allah! We seek Your protection and Your promise. O Allah! Bring down Your help and support, You are their helper and supporter, and for You they will fight.

O Allah! They are helpless, so help them.

Our Lord! Pour upon them patience, make them steadfast, and grant them victory over the Disbelivers.

O Allah! Plot for them, and suffice them with what You please, if You support them then nobody can overpower them, and if You forsake them, then who will be able to support them after You?

There is no God but Allah, the Mighty the Forebearing, there is no God but Allah, Lord of the Mighty Throne, There is no God but Allah, Lord of the Heavens and Lord of the Earth and Lord of the Noble Throne.

Allahumma Aameen

O Allah! Please accept!.

In Lebanon, the dead have to wait
By Hassan M. Fattah - The New York Times

http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/07/21/news/tyre.php

Published: July 21, 2006

TYRE, Lebanon: Carpenters are running out of wood for coffins. Bodies are
stacked three or four high in a truck at the hospital morgue. The stench is
spreading in the rubble.

The morbid reality of Israel's bombing campaign of the south is reaching
almost every corner of this city. Just a few kilometers from the Rest House
hotel, where the United Nations was evacuating civilians Thursday, wild dogs
gnawed at the charred remains of a family who were bombed as they were
trying to escape the village of Hosh, officials said.

Officials at the Tyre Government Hospital inside a Palestinian refugee camp
said they had counted the bodies of 50 children among the 115 in the
refrigerated truck in the morgue, although their count could not be
independently confirmed.

20th-Jul-2006 04:27 pm - Returning to the Glory of Islaam

The Key to the Return of the Glory of Islaam
Written by: Shaykh Muhammad Naasir ud-Deen al-Albaani (Rahimahullaah)
Taken from: masjiduthaymeen.org

The Muhaddith, Al-Imaam, Ar-Rabbaani, Muhammad Naasir ud-Deen al-Albaani (رحمه الله) wrote:

The key to the return of the glory of Islaam is:

The application of beneficial knowledge and the establishment of righteous actions.

And it is a great matter that the Muslims will not achieve except by applying the methodology of tasfiyah (purification) and tarbiyah (cultivation).

And these two are extremely important obligations.

And what is meant by the first of these matters (Tasfiyah):

Firstly: The purification of the ‘aqeedah (creed) of Islaam from that which is foreign to it of shirk, denial of the attributes of Allaah and misinterpretation of them (ta’weel), and the rejection of authentic ahadeeth (by the people) because they are connected to ‘aqeedah and their like.

Secondly: The purification of the Fiqh (understanding) of Islaam from the incorrect ijtihaadaat (deductions of legal rulings) which oppose the Book and the Sunnah and the liberation of the mind from blind following and the darkness of fanaticism.

Thirdly: The purification of the books of tafseer (commentaries of the Qur’aan), fiqh (understanding), ar-Raqaiq (softening of the hearts), and other than them from the weak (da’eef), fabricated (maudoo’), Isra’eeliaat (from the doubtful sources of Ahl al-Kitaab), and abominations (munkaraat).

And as for the other obligation (Tarbiyah):

What is needed is the cultivation of the next generation (of Muslims) upon this Islaam which is purified from everything we have mentioned, giving them the correct Islaamic Tarbiyah (cultivation) from the beginning without having any influences from the Western indoctrination of kufr.

And there is no doubt that the realization of these two obligations, requires enormous cooperative effort with sincerity between all the Muslim groups and individuals, from those who are truly concerned in building the desired Islaamic society, each one working in their field and specialization.
7th-Jul-2006 11:14 pm - The Prophet's Speech at Tabuk
The Prophet's Speech at Tabuk

In the ninth year of hijra, at the head of an army of 30,000 Muslims which is gathering to meet the impending aggression from the Byzantine Empire, Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam delivered the following speech at Tabuk on the borders of Syria:

He sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam praised and thanked Allah and said:

Verily the most veracious discourse is the book of Allah (the Qur'an). The most trustworthy handhold is the word of piety (Taqwa). The best of religions is the religion of Ibrahim. The best of the precedents is the precedent of Muhammad. The noblest speech is the invocation of Allah. The finest of narratives is this Qur'an. The best of affairs is that which has been firmly resolved upon. The worst religions are those which are created without sanction. The best of ways is the one trodden by the prophets. The noblest death is the death of a martyr. The most miserable blindness is waywardness after guidance. The best of auctions is that which is beneficent. The best guidance is that which is put into practice. The worst blindness is the blindness of the heart.

The upper hand is better than the lower (i.e. it is better to give than to receive). The little that suffices is better than the abundant and alluring. The worst apology is that which is tendered when death stares one in the face. The worst remorse is that which is felt on the Day of Resurrection.

Some men do not come to the Friday prayer, but with hesitance and delay. And some of them do not remember Allah but with reluctance. The tongue that is addicted to false expression is a bubbling spring of sins.

The most valuable possession is contentment of the heart. The best provision is that of piety. The highest wisdom is the fear of Allah, the Mighty and Great. The best thing to be cherished in the hearts is faith and conviction; doubt is part of infidelity.

Impatient wailing and fulsome praise of the dead is an act of ignorance. Betrayal leads one to the fire of Hell. Drinking amounts to burning. Obscene poetry is the work of the Devil. Wine (alcohol) is the mother of evils. The worst thing eaten is one which belongs to the orphan. Blessed is he who receives admonition from others.

Each one of you must resort to a place of four cubits (the grave). Your affairs will be decided ultimately in the next life. The worst dream is the false dream. Whatever is in store in near. To abuse a believer is transgression. Raising arms against him is infidelity. To backbite him is a disobedience to Allah. Inviolability and sacredness of his property is like that of his blood. He who swears by Allah (falsely), in fact falsifies him. He who pardons is himself granted pardon. He who forgives others, is forgiven by Allah for his sins.

He who represses anger, Allah rewards him. He who faces misfortunes with perseverance, Allah compenses him. He who acts only for fame and reputation, Allah disgraces him. He who shows patience and forbearance, Allah gives him a double reward. He who disobeys Allah, Allah chastises him.

I seek the forgiveness of Allah, I seek the forgiveness of Allah, I seek the forgiveness of Allah.
26th-Jun-2006 12:36 am - Such Words of Beauty
He was a man of great piety and immense knowledge, humble in his accomplishments and strong in his reliance upon Allah. He is Shaykh ul Islaam ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah ta’ala have mercy upon him and grant him Jannah-tul-Firdaus.

My eyes tonight fell upon such words of beauty. May Allah ta’ala reward my sister, as it was through her that I received this. SubhaanAllah, it is from amongst "Ibn Taymiyyah's Letters from Prison", this one specifically is addressed to his mother. SubhaanAllah, look at the status he grants his mother, the respectful way he addresses her, the many du'aas within, his fervent desire to be with her, the tawakul [reliance upon Allah] he exudes in a time of great difficulty, his sabr and kind words - wallahu ta'ala 'alim, an example for us all. His eloquence is profound, mashaaAllah.

Thus I defer to the said 'words of beauty', may we pay heed to them, ultimately realizing the rights of our beloved mothers, and in turn our parents, may we treat them with kindness and gentleness. Afterall, Allah ta'ala instructs us in Surah Luqman: "And We have enjoined on man (to be dutiful and good) to his parents. His mother bore him in weakness and hardship upon weakness and hardship, and his weaning is in two years give thanks to Me and to your parents, unto Me is the final destination." (Luqman 31:14)

The Righteous will die,
and the wicked will die ...
The warriors who fight jihaad will die,
and those who sit at home will die ...
Those who busy themselves with correct belief will die,
and those who treat the people as their slaves will die ...
The brave who reject injustice will die,
and the cowards who seek to cling onto this life at any price will die ...
The people of great concern and lofty goals will die,
and the wretched people who live only for cheap enjoyment will die ...
Every soul shall taste of death ...

SubhaanAllah ...

And the stupor of death will come in truth: "This is what you have been avoiding!" (Qaf 50:19)

And the Trumpet will be blown, that will be the Day whereof warning (had been given) (i.e. the Day of Resurrection). (Qaf 50:20)

And every person will come forth along with an (angel) to drive (him), and an (angel) to bear witness. (Qaf 50:21)

(It will be said to the sinners): "Indeed you were heedless of this, now We have removed your covering, and sharp is your sight this Day!" (Qaf 50:22)

And his companion (angel) will say: "Here is (this Record) ready with me!" (Qaf 50:23)

(And it will be said): "Both of you throw (Order from Allâh to the two angels) into Hell, every stubborn disbeliever (in the Oneness of Allâh, in His Messengers, etc.). (Qaf 50:24)

"Hinderer of good, transgressor, doubter, (Qaf 50:25)

"Who set up another ilâh (god) with Allâh, then (both of you) cast him in the severe torment." (Qaf 50:26)

Ya Rabbi, save us from the torment of the fire, ya Rabbi allow us to gain your Pleasure through your worship, ya Rabbi may we never be taken off the straight Path after being showed the light.

Ameen.
